Commissioner Barry Swanson, Salvation Army leader for our work in the Midwest, recently identified six strategic priorities for ongoing focus. These include engaging in concentrated prayer, strengthening multicultural ministries, enhancing youth ministries, targeting urban ministries, increasing soldier recruitment and expanding candidate recruitment.
You are invited to take part in reading and responding to these priorities in the newly created blog and discussion areas listed below. Make your voice heard!

In January 2004, it was announced that Joan Kroc, wife of McDonald's founder Ray Kroc, bequeathed The Salvation Army with the largest individual philanthropic gift to a single organization in excess of $1.5 billion.
The funds are to be used to construct and develop world-class recreational, educational and ministry centers. Throughout the 11 central midwestern states, development for 6 Kroc centers is currently underway. View more information about these Kroc centers at: http://www.usc.salvationarmy.org/kroc
