South America East Territory rallies

Argentineans, Paraguayans, and Uruguayans rallied together in August 2007 as General Shaw Clifton and Commissioner Helen Clifton challenged Salvationists in the South America East Territory to work together as an Army of God.

Over 3,000 people were in attendance, 242 knelt at the altar seeking a renewal in their faith, and dozens others accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. Leaders in the South America East Territory heartily deem this campaign the most important and memorable of the last few years.

Established in 1890 by four officers who didn't even speak Spanish, this territory has grown to include 1,606 senior soldiers, 147 officers and 583 junior soldiers. Territorial leaders Colonels Nestor and Rebecca Nuesch head up the mission at headquarters, which is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

The Lord has been moving in the territory which has thriving women's ministries programs. It also recently held a territorial youth institute called "Mission Possible" and organized a territorial music institute themed, "Holiness Unto the Lord." The territory has a successful magazine called, El Salvacionista, which under its previous name, El Cruzado, has been published for more than 115 years. Other periodicals include El Oficial and El Mensajero (for women's ministries).
