THE SALVATION ARMY IN ARDMORE,
OK CONTINUES
The Salvation Army continues its relief work in Lone Grove, Oklahoma after recent tornadoes. It has been announced that 118 homes were completely
destroyed, 28 suffered major damage, and 37 others received damage. These
numbers do not include businesses that received damage or were destroyed. As
our mobile feeding units (canteens) roam the devastated area with hot meals,
snacks and beverages, they also offer comforting words of hope.
The Salvation Army began today by providing a hot
breakfast of biscuits and gravy. Lunch
and dinner is being provided also. Through yesterday evening, a little over
5,000 meals were served. In addition to meals, snacks and hot or cold beverages
are provided. Those impacted by the storm are also offered comfort kits that
include paper goods, toiletry items, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and other
household items.
The temporary shelter established in Ardmore closed as of today (Friday). The Salvation Army is making emergency shelter
available as many individuals and/or families do not have funds to stay in
hotels or have nearby family members with whom to stay temporarily. As transition begins to longer term recovery,
The Salvation Army will offer social services to help storm victims get back on
their feet as well as providing emotional and spiritual care.
Donations may be made by visiting www.salvationarmyusa.org or call 1-800-SAL-ARMY and designate Lone Grove,

Army can meet the most immediate needs of those impacted by the storm.
