SALVATION ARMY WELCOMES NEW RELIGIOUS
& BUSINESS LEADERS TO WISCONSIN & UPPER MICHIGAN

Wauwatosa, WI (February 10, 2013) The Salvation Army welcomes ecclesiastic
(clergy) leaders Major Dan Jennings and Major Dorene Jennings to Milwaukee.
Major Dan Jennings has been appointed as the new Divisional Commander of the
Wisconsin & Upper Michigan Division & Major Doreen Jennings has been
appointed as the Director of Women's Ministries.
Together, Majors Dan and Dorene Jennings began their officership in 1994 as
officers of the Watertown South Dakota Corps; where they served for six
years.
A move to Wisconsin & Upper Michigan Divisional Headquarters followed in
2000. The then Captain Dan Jennings was appointed as Divisional Youth and
Candidates Secretary and Officer for Leadership Development. Captain Dorene
Jennings served as Divisional Youth Secretary, Divisional Community Care and
Older Adult Ministries Secretary. In 2004 the Jennings were appointed to the
Kansas & Western Missouri Division as Divisional Secretary for Program and
Divisional Community Care Secretary and Divisional Volunteer Director,
respectively.
Appointments to Territorial Headquarters followed in 2009, along with
promotion to the rank of Major. Major Dan Jennings served as Territorial
Assistant Secretary for Programming and Major Dorene Jennings as the
Territorial Community Care Ministries Secretary and Veterans Administration
Volunteer Services Representative.
In February 2011 a unique opportunity came for the Jennings to oversee a new
and vibrant ministry. Majors Dan and Dorene Jennings were appointed as Senior
Kroc Officer and Officer for Congregational Life of the Ray and Joan Kroc Corps
Community Center in Quincy, Illinois. During this time, Major Dan Jennings
also gave leadership to the regionalization of the Hannibal, Missouri and
Quincy, Illinois service areas.
The Jennings both graduated from Olivet Nazarene University. Major Dan
Jennings is an instructor for The Salvation Army Continuing Education Program;
teaching Preaching and Worship. Together they share a passion for missions and
global ministry.
Major Dorene Jennings is an avid gardener and loves to read; while Major Dan
Jennings enjoys woodworking, making fountain pens, riding motorcycles and
Kansas basketball.
The Jennings have two daughters and two grandchildren.
