V 100 FM TO HOST FOOD DRIVE FOR THE SALVATION
ARMY SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 17
Wauwatosa, WI
(November 14, 2012) V 100 FM as part of their on-going community
support will host a food drive to benefit Salvation Army Milwaukee
County food pantries on Saturday, November 17th from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00
p.m. at the Sentry Food Store, 7101 W. Lisbon Ave.
Salvation Army
food pantries serve an average of 25,000 individuals annually. Since
January 2012 request for first time assistance has continued to increase
10%. Several times throughout the year Salvation Army food pantries
have been bare.
“We appreciate the partnership with V 100 and
the
annual food drive they host during the holiday season. It helps to
replenish our food pantries during Thanksgiving and Christmas and
reminds the public of the year round need we have for food. The need is
great. We encourage corporations, businesses and civic groups to host
food drives year round,” said Salvation Army Milwaukee County Commander
Roger Ross.

About
The Salvation Army:
The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian
church, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination
since 1865. Nearly 33 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation
Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from
providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the
disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless
and opportunities for underprivileged children. Nationally, approximately 84
cents of every dollar raised is used to support those services in nearly 9,000
communities nationwide. For more information, go to www.SAmilwaukee.org.
