2013 Target School Sprees 

TARGET, THE SALVATION ARMY & VOLUNTEERS

HELP LOCAL CHILDREN

START THE SCHOOL YEAR RIGHT!

Local children provided back-to-school shopping sprees at Target!

Springfield MO (August 16, 2013) Target and The Salvation Army teamed up to provide 34 local children with the back-to-school necessities they need for the upcoming school year.    

     During the 2013 Target School Spree events held in Springfield & Branson each child received an $81 Target Gift Card and with the help of a volunteer ‘shopping buddy' picked out school supplies, clothing and other items they needed to start the school year right.

     Volunteer shopping buddies included Michael White - Chairman of the Mayor's Commission on Children;  Patty Dunn - President of the MO PTA Springfield Council; Virginia Darr, Tammy Haynes -President of the Heart of the Westside Neighborhood Assoc.; Aaron Dicer & Denee' Hughes - 88.3 The Wind; Juanita Crow - J.D. Crow and Assoc.; Kirk Elmquist - Morelock-Ross; Paul Adler - KY3 News Ken Walker - Transport Graphics; Jessica Peña - FOX KRBK News; LaDella Thomas - Branson Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, Director of Annual Events & Chamber Services; Autumn Porter - United Way of the Ozarks, Director of Resource Development; Jim Boeker - Boeker Real Estate Group; Laura Greer - Carol Jones Realtors; Janet Bezzerides - Boeker Group Real Estate; Lyndi Carnelison - Branson Bank; Michael Porter - Sight & Sound Theater; Frank Thomas; Hailey Fleming - Branson Bank; Janet Jones - Jones Company Realty; Patty Silliman - Keller Williams and other local community leaders.

       In total, more than $3,300 in assistance was provided to the children participating. For many, this will be the first year they have ever been provided with these basic back-to-school necessities.
