WHO ARE YOUR SUPERHEROES??

Superheroes

It's National Superhero Day. Waukesha Salvation Army is celebrating ITS superheroes! The observance was started in 1995 by a group of employees at Marvel Comics to encourage people nationwide to "be heroes in their home community.:" That's exactly what are our donors, our volunteers, and the people we help are! Superheroes!

FEEDING THE HUNGRY -- EVERY SINGLE WEEK

KitchenMeal

To be "doing the most good" in Waukesha County, the Waukesha Salvation Army employs a virtual army of dedicated volunteers. In this photo Zach, Josh and Kandy work in our professional kitchen to prepare one of our free "Community Meals" . . . open to anyone in need-- including families-- every Tues, Thurs and Sat evening from 5:00-5:40. We feed hundreds every week. Like the mission of feeding the hungry? Can you help?

FUN ON APRIL FOOLS DAY 2016

PeteyPotatoHead

A POST FOR THIS APRIL FUN (Fools) DAY: Please meet the general overseer and mascot of our 2nd floor dining room's industrial kitchen, "Petey Potato Head." Petey's eyes are bloodshot from the long hours, his mouth is full of aluminum foil to keep him from barking too many orders, his ears are crooked to shut out some of the noise, and his feet are big enough that he doesn't trip and fall on what are at times, wet floors. Every week, Waukesha Salvation Army feeds between 200-300 people during three FREE Community Meals, for anyone in need-- Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, from 5:00-5:45pm. Your prayers, financial support and volunteering are greatly appreciated in helping us fulfill this mission/outreach to hungry individuals and families! Thank you!

FIRST DAY - SPRING BREAK "FEED THE KIDS"

FeedTheKids

Throughout the Summer, and during Spring Break each year, the Waukesha Salvation Army's "Feed The Kids" program kicks in. It provides hundreds of sack lunches each week to hungry students out of school. Without access to school breakfast and lunch programs, many children would otherwise, simply go hungry. Volunteers are needed each day to make simple sandwiches and pack-up the food destined for the public park location(s) where it is distributed 11:30am to 12:30pm. Donations are also gratefully accepted, mailed to Waukesha Salvation Army, 445 Madison Street, 53188. Thank you for your continued support!
