Wauwatosa, WI (December 23, 2010) Salvation Army officials in Outagamie County received a pleasant surprise and donation in one Red Kettle, 13 new $100 bills. The $1,300 donation exceeds the total of $5,000 for bell ringers who have adopted this Red Kettle.
“A very generous donor opened his or her heart and wallet or purse to give to those most in need. We can only continue doing the most good together. Donations large or small help us give hope all year long for individuals and families throughout the State of Wisconsin,” said Major Robert Thomson, Divisional Commander for The Salvation Army of Wisconsin & Upper Michigan.
Salvation Army volunteers will continue to ring bells through Christmas Eve.
84 cents of every dollar donated helps keep critical Salvation Army programs and services in place all year round for individuals and families in need in all communities of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.

About The Salvation Army:
The Salvation Army, an evangelical part of the universal Christian church, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination since 1865. Nearly 33 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through the broadest array of social services that range from providing food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless and opportunities for underprivileged children. Approximately, 84 cents of every dollar raised is used to support those services in nearly 9,000 communities nationwide.
